ZDR Series Pilot Operated Pressure Reducing Valve: Information and Specifications
There are four different pressure ratings for the ZDR valve, which include 25 bar, 75 bar, 150 and 210 bars so that it can be used in various operating conditions. The maximum working pressure is up to 315 bars, while the highest flow rates is up to 50 liters per minute. It has a high capacity such that large volumes of hydraulic loads can be handled by the valve making it a reliable component in demanding applications.
One of the most important characteristics of the ZDR Series is its versatile operation modes. Four adjustment types are provided: a standard rotary knob; bushing with hexagon & protective cap; lockable rotary knob with scale; and rotary knob with scale. This variety allows for precise control and customization based on specific application needs.
In order to allow free flow back from A2 to A1, this valve operates as an optional check valve for version “A” in case of pressure reduction in channels A,B or P3. Thanks to this flexibility, ZDR valves can cover all possible requirements for any particular hydraulic system ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
The ZDR valve’s environmental resistance includes NBR seals that work efficiently within –30°C to +80°C ambient temperature range and FKM seals which operate at –20°C to +80°C. It suits mineral oils, environmentally friendly fluids or flame-resistant fluids that make it useful across industries that need diverse hydraulic liquids.

Key Features of the ZDR Series Pilot Operated Pressure Reducing Valve
Features
- Valve of platter for sandwiches
- Patterning as per DIN 24340, Form A
- Patterning according to ISO 4401-03-02-0-05 (with locating hole)
- 4 pressure norms
4 types of adjustments:
- Rotary handle
- Adaptor with hexagon and protective cap

Reduce channel A, B, or P pressure.
Optional check valve (just in case “A” version).
The ZDR valve is known as an immediate acting control valve which limits pressure on the secondary circuit. It consists of a housing, control spool, compression spring, adjustment unit and an optional check valve. The secondary pressure is set by the adjusting means to remain constant in order for the valve to operate.
Bosch Rexroth Pilot Operated Pressure Reducing Valve: Installation Instructions
Preparation:
- The installation environment should be clean and free of contaminants.
- Inspect the valve and all the other components for any impairment or remnants before installation.
Mounting Position:
- The ZDR valve can be mounted in any direction.
- Make sure that the valve mounting face is clean and that it has required surface quality.
Porting Patterns:
- Ascertain if the porting pattern of the valve is according to DIN 24340 form A or ISO 4401-03-02-0-05 standards.
Valve Mounting Screws:
- Use four M4 hexagon socket head cap screws ISO 4762 – M5 – 10.9.
- Calculate length and tightening torque depending on components mounted under and above sandwich plate valve.
Seal Rings:
- Use similar seal rings for ports A, B, P, and T(Y).
- Ensure that these seals are matched with hydraulic fluid used.
Hydraulic Connections:
- Connect hydraulic lines to their respective ports (A, B, P, T(Y)) as per symbols given in the manual.
- Check that all connections are not loose nor tight to avoid oil seepage around them.
Pressure Adjustment:
- Adjust secondary pressure by means of specified adjustment type which include rotary knob, bushing with hexagon, lockable rotary knob with scale or rotary knob with scale.
- Set desired pressure correctly using pressure gauge connection (G1/4).
Check Valve (Version “A”):
- Attention should be paid to correct orientation for free flow back from channel A2 to A1 if version “A” includes check valves when fitting these versions into plants.
- Check functionality of check valves during initial system start up.
