Function
The pilot-operated proportional pressure relief valves of types DBE and ZDBE are operated by means of a proportional solenoid. These valves are used to limit a system pressure. With these valves, it is possible to steplessly adjust the system pressure to be limited depending on the electrical command value. These valves consist of two main stages: a pilot control stage and a main stage.
Pilot Control Stage:
- Components: Proportional solenoid (1), poppet (2), and valve seat (3).
- Operation: The proportional solenoid converts the electrical current into a mechanical force. An increase in the current intensity results in a corresponding increase in magnetic force, which adjusts the system pressure.
- Pressure Regulation: The system pressure applied in port P acts on the right-hand side of the main spool cartridge assembly (5). The pressure also acts via the pilot line (7) on the spring-loaded side of the spool. Once the pressure reaches the pre-set value, the poppet (3) lifts from the seat, allowing pilot oil to drain, thereby limiting the pressure on the spring-loaded side of the main spool (5).
Main Stage:
- Components: Housing (4) and main spool cartridge assembly (5).
- Operation: When the system pressure exceeds the set value, the main spool moves to the left, transitioning to the control position P to T. At minimum control current (command value zero), the minimum setting pressure is set.
