VDS Series Vane Pump Installation and Operation Guidelines
Installation Procedures
- Rotation: At the side of the shaft, the pump should be rotating in clock-wise direction.
- Drain Piping: The drain piping should be connected directly to a point below the tank fluid level such that back pressure due to pipe resistance does not exceed 0.03 MPa.
- Pressure Adjustment: Increase pressure by turning adjustment screw clockwise and decrease by turning it anticlockwise.
- Adjustment for Rate of Flow: Decrease rate of flow by turning adjustment screw clockwise and increase by turning it anti-clockwise.
- Initial Operation: Before starting operation for the first time, empty discharge side of pump and reciprocate start & stop motor so as to let out all airs from pump interior parts together with suction pipes. After oil discharge from the pump is confirmed, continue no-load running for more than 10 minutes until all airs in circuit are discharged.
Points For Attention During Operation
- Suction Pressure: The suction pressure range is -0.03 to +0.03MPa, and flow speed at suction port should be greater than or equal to 2m/sec.
- Avoid Applying Radial or Thrust Load: Do not use pulley, gear or any other driving systems which impose radial or thrust load on end face of pump shaft.
- Usage Of Filters:On suction line install a strainer with filtering grade around 100μm; line filter on return line to tank shall be 25μm。
- Hydraulic Operating Fluids:Use anti-wear type ISO VG32~68 hydraulic oil (R&O type). Kinematic viscosity during operation shall be between 20-150mm²/s; when starting up at an oil temperature of lower than15°C , carry out preheating operation under low-pressure condition till oil temperature reaches15°C。
- Air Bleeding At Startup:Repeat inching (start-stop) operation during startup – this primes pumps and releases air within them together with pipes. For circuits where bleeding air is difficult before startup, an air bleed valve should be equipped.
